ROSE TATTOO

Today, the red rose is still widely popular as a representation of true love, and is often chosen as tattoo to represent one’s love for another. Rose tattoos have the versatility of being both very detailed and very simplistic. They are the most popular flower tattoo because they are often seen as having the most meaning.
Both men and women choose to get a rose tattoo as a representation of love. Among men the popular place for a rose tattoo is on the arm or the chest. But for women the possibilities are nearly endless, with the ankle being a very popular place.

Rose tattoos are almost always done in color because the color of the rose is what holds the symbolism. Red roses are the most common because they have the most powerful and desired meaning of all the roses: true love. Rose tattoos are often embellished with a variety of different designs including skulls, swords, vines, butterflies, leaves and other flowers.

Most commonly the rose will include the name of the person it is supposed to represent love for. This is done either separately from the rose or upon a river wrapped around the stem of the rose. Other choices for rose colors have recently included blue and purple to take a new spin on the beauty and history of the rose while adding a unique and modern touch.

More morbid tattoos involving roses can involve blood dripping from the rose’s thorns or with the rose piercing a heart to represent heartbreak. Rose tattoos are very popular with celebrities for their classic representations of beauty and love.
